Inspection & Quality Control (QA/QC) ensures that all work and materials meet client-approved specifications through inspections at various stages. This includes preparing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Control Plans (QCPs), and Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs. QA/QC also involves conducting final inspections, coordinating with third-party agencies, and witnessing all activities on behalf of the end-user.
Key activities include reviewing and approving raw material control against Material Test Certificates (MTCs), maintaining material traceability reports for fabricated items, ensuring compliance with welding standards, and verifying welding procedures and welder qualifications. Additionally, weld and NDT traceability reports are kept for structural welds.
NDT procedures are prepared according to national and international standards. NDT activities include testing for structural integrity using various methods such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle, or radiographic testing. Pressure testing for vessels, process piping, and structural components is also witnessed to ensure safety and compliance with specifications.
Welding equipment calibration records are closely monitored and maintained to ensure all tools are operating within their specified standards. This is a critical part of quality assurance to ensure that welding is done properly and safely.
Compliance with industry standards such as AWS, ASME, and ASTM ensures that all materials and processes meet established quality benchmarks. This includes ensuring welding, inspection, and testing procedures are in line with these standards, thereby assuring the safety, reliability, and durability of the final product.
Weld joint identification is carefully documented and tracked to ensure each weld meets the required standards. This process is governed by Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), ensuring the highest quality of work is maintained in accordance with industry standards.
Coordination with third-party inspection agencies is essential to validate the quality and integrity of work at every stage. This includes scheduling and managing the inspection process, ensuring that external inspectors review materials and procedures, and providing any necessary documentation.
Qualified inspection engineers, inspectors, and technicians are supplied to ensure compliance with all industry standards. Support is provided for certification processes by managing necessary documentation, ensuring adherence to code requirements, and assisting in the overall quality assurance and inspection processes.
